Warrington Three make GB Trails

Three Warrington Water Polo players have been selected to attend the National Water Polo trials to be held on 11th & 12th January 2014 at Cardiff International Pool. Emily Bowater 13 years (left), Ben Daily 13 years (centre) and Molly Boniface-Ashton 12 years (right). If they are selected they will join a training group for 14 & under players who are aiming to compete in the European Championships as under 17s in 2017.

In addition Emily and Molly have over the past few weeks attended rigorous trials for the North West Region side with Emily being selected for the 22 player squad and Molly being selected as first reserve for the 14 & under side. Ben Daily along with several other boys are still attending North West Region trails and hope to hear if they have been selected in the next two weeks.

Chris Byrne Head Water Polo Coach said, ’It’s really good to see young players who have worked so hard getting some reward for their effort. I’m really proud of what they have achieved and hopefully they have plenty more success to come .’ All three players will be looking to follow in the foot steps of Warrington’s Olympic Water Polo player Hazel Musgrove and GB International Courtney Dean over the next few years.
