Warrington Whirlwinds continued their development as they visited Royton to play two matches. The first game was declared as a Bolton and District knockout match. Warrington despite missing their goal keeper held Royton close in the first half with two goals from the ever improving Bret Takemoto, Marcus Woods and one goal from team captain Katie Bowater. However Royton managed four goals compared to Royton’s eight. The second half was a closer affair again Bret Takemoto was on target with two goals and Katie Bowater one. Royton managed only five goals in this half but were worthy winners. The whole team played well and my thanks to Zack Williams who covered in goal when I’m sure he was desperate to play his normal role.
