Warrington’s 12 & under player their first competitive match against a strong 10 player team from Tyldesley. Many of the Warrington team were fairly new to water polo and only team captain Katie Bowater had played competitive games last year. It was with great surprise then that Warrington started well with a goal from Bret Takemoto. Zach Williams then powered through to make it 2-0 to Warrington and an unexpected lead. Tyldesley hit back quickly with two goals but the Warrington team had started well.
In the second half Warrington found it tough going as a strong Tyldesley side scored three consecutive goals Bret Takemoto scored to make the score 3-5 but Tyldesley went on to score four more goals as Warrington flagged the final score 3-9. Warrington are on a steep learning curve with a lot of matches in the coming weeks I predict they will be the most improved side by the end of the season. A new team is born and named ‘Whirlwinds’
